FARNA SL1|The "quintessential road bike" preserved by a Japanese brand

In today's shrinking rim brake road bike market, KhodaaBloom, a Japanese brand, continues to uphold models perfectly suited to the Japanese environment and riders.
Its aluminum road bike, the FARNA SL1, is an all-rounder designed for a wide range of uses.

Approximately 10 years ago, KhodaaBloom offered an ultralight model called the "FARNA SL," but the new 2026 model has a completely different character.
The new FARNA SL1 is a simple, straightforward all-rounder that truly embodies "the quintessential road bike."

The head tube is designed to be slightly shorter, but with ample stack height provided by the steerer tube, it allows for an upright riding position. As riders become more accustomed, they can adjust to a more aggressive, forward-leaning position, making it a versatile option suitable for a wide range of riders.

The rear triangle is designed with typical road bikes in mind, balancing light initial acceleration with stability. Furthermore, the chainstays are flattened to suppress lateral flex during pedaling and enhance vibration absorption through the seat.
The FARNA SL1 is truly a "road bike for everyone." Its exquisite balance of nimbleness, stability, and comfort makes it appealing to those starting out in road cycling and those who want to enjoy rim brakes again.

While offering user-friendly operation for entry-level riders, this balanced component group provides performance that won't feel lacking even with extended use. Its high cost-performance is also attractive, delivering solid performance while keeping the price down.

It's great that the crank is also consistently Tiagra.

And for the brake calipers, they opted for the superior Shimano 105, which provides solid braking power, eliminating the need for customization for a while.

The wheels selected are Shimano WH-RS100. With components and wheels unified under the Shimano brand, it's designed for low maintenance risk and long-term enjoyment.

Exhibition Test Ride Impressions|The new FARNA SL1's ride, completely revamped from the old model

At the KhodaaBloom 2026 model exhibition, I had the welcome opportunity to test ride the highly anticipated new "FARNA SL1." (The photo shows the FARNA SL2)
My first impression upon pedaling was that it was completely different from the old model. With its light pedal stroke and smooth acceleration, it felt unmistakably like "this is an aluminum road bike."

The previous FARNA (2025 model) leaned towards long-distance endurance, prioritizing stability over responsiveness. However, this new FARNA leaps far beyond that framework. The responsiveness and acceleration feel significantly improved, evolving into a feeling that even borders on raciness.
Nevertheless, it's certainly not an overly aggressive racer. Its character can be freely altered depending on riding position and customization. Set up upright, it can comfortably handle casual touring and long rides, while a more aggressive forward-leaning position allows riders to enjoy the speed of a "pure road bike."

This "wide range of adjustability" is the greatest appeal of the 2026 FARNA SL1. It holds the potential for both first-time road bike riders and those considering their next step to enjoy cycling in their own style. It's a bike I can confidently recommend even to those who are still unsure "what they want to enjoy with a road bike."
