The frame geometry features a lower center of gravity and a longer wheelbase for excellent stability, making it suitable for rough roads and carrying luggage.

This model is recommended for users who want a lighter, more nimble gravel road bike than a speed-focused road bike.

The tire clearance of up to 38mm allows for adventure cycling.

Furthermore, it comes with a seat clamp with carrier mounts, allowing for luggage carrying, which is typically a weakness of road bikes.

However, the tubes are slender, categorizing it as a road bike rather than a gravel road bike.

It doesn't have the same durability as a gravel bike, giving the impression that it's primarily for on-road riding.

The cables are routed internally, which reduces maintenance risks and contributes to a clean appearance.

The front fork uses a lightweight carbon fork with excellent vibration absorption.

With a reference weight of 9.7kg, it's quite light for a disc road bike. It's a perfect specification for users who find gravel road bikes too focused on rough terrain and carrying capacity.

CONTEND AR2 Component Configuration

The CONTEND AR2's basic specifications include Shimano Tiagra (2×10 speed).

The crank is also uniformly Tiagra, which is a welcome point. It's more than sufficient for general use, excluding racing scenarios.

The brakes are flat-mount mechanical disc brakes from TEKTRO. Since they are dual-piston (opposed piston) type, they feel like they provide reliable stopping power compared to cheaper disc brakes.

However, if you're considering aggressive riding, you might want to upgrade the brakes a bit.

The wheels are tubeless-ready aluminum wheels, which is a generous specification for stock wheels.

The tires are GIANT's original 700x32c, also tubeless-ready, which is a generous offering.

The bike comes tubeless-ready from the factory, meaning there are no inner tubes. Please note that puncture repair methods differ between tubed and tubeless-ready setups.

The seatpost is a carbon seatpost with GIANT's proprietary D-fuse standard. It reduces the burden on your posterior during long rides and on rough roads.
