Personally, I think both specs have their merits, but if I had to choose, I'd say disc brakes are better for beginners.
While there are many factors to consider, the ability to brake reliably is an important specification for road bikes, which travel at higher speeds compared to other types of bicycles.
Additionally, the high degree of freedom in tire width for disc brake models is a welcome advantage. The ability to expand options, from fast, narrow tires to wider, more cushioned and stable tires, to suit your riding style, is simply a great perk.◎
