If you want to ride fast on a cross bike (flat bar road bike), the "FUJI MADCAP" is a model you can't miss.
There are many lightweight cross bikes and cost-effective cross bikes on the market, but purely fast cross bikes are rare.
This model is an aluminum road bike frame that has been converted to a flat bar. Moreover, its frame is designed to focus on speed. Compared to entry-level aluminum road frames from other brands, it offers superior propulsion ◎
This MADCAP has now arrived as a beautiful pre-owned bicycle!

Frame Design Focused on Speed

The MADCAP frame uses FUJI's unique "A2-SL" aluminum. It is butted, resulting in a frame that balances rigidity and lightness ◎

The chainstays are asymmetrically shaped. This shaping is rarely seen in modern aluminum road bikes due to cost considerations.
It is designed to suppress frame twisting, efficiently converting pedaling power into propulsion.

The down tube is not simply shaped; it is designed with consideration for vibration absorption, power transmission, and rigidity.

It is vertically flattened at the head tube side and transitions to horizontally flattened towards the BB side.
This ensures sufficient welding surface area to maintain rigidity, and also contributes to improved vibration absorption from the ground ◎
The adoption of internal cable routing is also a welcome feature ◎

The frame geometry features a slightly high center of gravity and short rear center. While many entry-level aluminum road bikes today prioritize stability, the MADCAP's design feels aggressive.
Raising the center of gravity allows for aggressive cornering and easier pedaling. However, it's important to note that this can compromise stability.
The rear center length is also close to that of a pure road bike, contributing to nimble handling.
This model is a used product, but it's in excellent condition with few scratches, which is another recommended point ◎

The front fork uses a carbon fork with an aluminum steerer. This specification prioritizes lightness and rigidity.
Furthermore, the tapered steerer standard provides excellent steering rigidity ◎
While there are many aluminum road bikes and flat bar road bikes available, models with so many frame designs focused on speed have become truly rare recently!
Plenty of Road Bike Parts

The MADCAP's basic specifications include Shimano CLARIS (2x8 speed).

The gear ratio is 50/34T for the front and 11-28T for the rear, which is the same as a road bike ◎
The crank uses Sugino cranks, a favorite of FUJI. It's a welcome point that a crank balancing performance, design, and cost is used ◎

The wheels are aluminum with aero spokes. These wheels are designed to reduce air resistance and improve responsiveness ◎ They perfectly align with the MADCAP's concept!

The brakes are caliper brakes. While their braking power is more than adequate, there are limitations on tire width selection, so a disc brake version would be desirable.
