About Gestalt Frame Performance

MARIN BIKES, based in its home country, is a brand strong in off-road models. Therefore, it has a rich lineup that focuses on durability rather than lightness ◎
The GESTALT also features a tough frame, which is an advantage as a gravel road bike for riding on gravel and forest roads, and in terms of its expandability for loading ◎

The seat tube features a design reminiscent of American cedar, which is a symbol of MARIN, and I personally find it very appealing ◎

The frame geometry features a design that prioritizes stability, with a slightly lowered center of gravity.
It's not designed for swiftly cruising paved roads like a road bike, but rather to be easy to control even when loaded with luggage on gravel or forest roads. ◎
While lowering the center of gravity can have the negative impression of reducing pedaling performance, the GESTALT frame features thick chainstays and dropped seatstays, among other design elements, to prevent sacrificing pedaling performance, resulting in a surprisingly light ride. ◎

The head tube length is slightly longer compared to road bikes. The riding position is more upright than a road bike, but slightly more forward-leaning than a cross bike.
Other features are a popular design, which can be said to be an easy-to-handle design without excess.

The eyelets are abundantly arranged, as is typical for gravel road bikes. You can attach carriers and racks, as well as fenders, of course. ◎

Wheel attachment is not the popular thru-axle standard of today, but rather the traditional quick release.
Although it has less fixing power, it has advantages such as lower initial and maintenance costs, and easy attachment/detachment when transporting the bike, making opinions on it mixed.

The front fork is made of aluminum. Personally, I wish it had a carbon fork, but it's also a choice that's characteristic of the Marin Bikes brand.
About the Gestalt's Parts Configuration

The GESTALT's basic configuration is an entry-level specification featuring Shimano CLARIS (2x8 speed).

TEKTRO mechanical disc brakes are used for the brakes.

The handlebars are flared handlebars, which are popular on gravel road bikes, designed for comfortable lower-hand positions on rough roads. ◎

The tires chosen are 700x35c, with a tread pattern that performs well on both on and off-road surfaces.

There's a fair bit of tire clearance, but extremely wide tires like 50c might be difficult. However, tires around 40c, which are easy to handle on Japanese terrain, seem to be fine.

The parts configuration is a popular specification for this class. Although it's a resin pedal, it's a bit unusual that pedals are standard equipment!
