The "ROVE LTD," the flagship model of our "KONA" touring gravel road bike "ROVE."
It offers an excellent balance of practicality, desirability, and cost-performance! A truly KONA-esque bike!
This gravel road bike, which defies expectations for a mass-produced brand with its sharp specifications, has been available in Japan since 2018!

What is the long-loved ROVE?

The ROVE series has long been a lineup of adventure bikes for touring.
Even before the term "gravel road bike" gained attention, we had been promoting it as a bicycle focused on touring and off-road (gravel riding).
When it first appeared, it was called a "FREE RANGE BIKE."
While it matches the current trend of "gravel road bikes,"
they have continued to refine and create "the models they want to make" without jumping on trends.
This stance, uncharacteristic of a mass-produced brand, is one of the reasons why we "love KONA"!
About the ROVE LTD Frame
The frame material used for the ROVE LTD is chromoly, which can withstand heavy use, and is butted to balance lightness and rigidity.

The ROVE LTD is a model that adds lightness with a carbon fork to an excellent touring bike.
While we'd love to embark on a bike trip "anytime," "anywhere," and "as far as we can go," the reality is that only a limited number of people have that much time.
If you're going to use the precious "morning hours" you've carved out by getting up early on a Sunday morning, the lightness of a carbon fork is truly essential.
With the same physical strength and time, you can reach the next mountain pass, enjoy different scenery, and have a wider range of route choices!

The frame color is "Gloss Metallic Green." It's a wonderful color with a lustrous, transparent, and deep finish that is hard to describe.
The fork and frame are equipped with plenty of eyelets. It's a welcome feature that allows you to enjoy bike touring with a carrier & panniers, bike packing, or any travel style you prefer!
ROVE LTD Component Configuration
The component was the most thrilling point for me this year.
That's because it wasn't confirmed whether it would be "SHIMANO GRX" or "SRAM RIVAL 1" until it arrived...
This is due to the difficulty in procuring parts these days. It can't be helped, but it still makes you nervous.

As a result, "SHIMANO GRX (2x11 speed)" was continued, just like last year!
For touring, where luggage volume varies greatly depending on the route (including ups and downs), distance, itinerary, and purpose, a double front chainring is highly recommended due to its adaptability.
In addition, GRX hydraulic disc brakes, which offer powerful braking with a light touch, are a strong ally that allows for safe control even on long downhill sections of tours!

The tires are "MAXXIS RAMBLER (650x47B)" semi-block tires, which allow you to enjoy both on-road and off-road riding.
Like other ROVE series, it comes standard with 650B (road plus) tires, making it an attractive model with specifications that allow for more active riding!
We also recommend customizing it for high-speed touring by adding 700c wheels!

The lightweight "WTB KOM TEAM i23" rims are adopted, which pair perfectly with the frame set. With an inner width of 23mm, they firmly support the tires, maintaining high grip without tire deflection.
By the way, with the tire and rim combination, the actual tire width is 49mm. There's still plenty of tire clearance!
And the true essence of KONA's user-friendly approach! Shimano 105 hubs are used.
The hub, which is the heart of the bike and something you don't want to break during a tour (as it would end the trip), needs to be tough.
It's also a point where repair costs can accumulate, so a sturdy and long-lasting hub is incredibly reliable, greatly reducing running costs!
