SUTRA LTD Frame Performance
The SUTRA LTD features a lightweight chromoly frame with butted tubing and a chromoly fork with a 12mm thru-axle standard, making it a modern specification.
The first thing that caught my eye in the geometry was the head angle. A significantly relaxed head angle of 69.5°, making it trail-ready.
Combined with the low center of gravity design, with a BB position of 74mm, it delivers overwhelming stability when riding on rough terrain◎
However, models adopting such a design tend to give a negative impression of being a heavy bike, but the SUTRA LTD is a mysterious model that combines a pleasant responsiveness that answers when you push it◎
Moreover, it hasn't forgotten its origins as a touring bike, with a long head tube that allows for an upright riding position, making it comfortable for long journeys◎
It can be said to be a model with overwhelming versatility that allows you to ride "fun" on-road, off-road, and for long distances.
The frame color is "Matte Turismo Olive." It's a nice color that's hard to convey in photos, with olive green tones over a gold base!
Of course, it has eyelets for carriers and mudguards. There are multiple bolt mounts on the top tube (top and bottom), under the downtube, and on the front fork.
It supports various loading methods, such as bolt-on top tube bags and cargo cages. Even if you don't use all of them, it's great to know you can if you want to◎
In terms of parts configuration, it's a monster that far exceeds the realm of a gravel road bike.
There's a genre called "monster cross," which is a 29er MTB with drop handlebars, and the SUTRA LTD has a similar concept.
It comes with MAXXIS REKON RACE tires (29×2.25).
Although it's an XC-type with low knobs, it's equipped with full-fledged MTB tires.
This alone provides plenty of off-road capability, but there's still plenty of tire clearance, allowing for a change to tires around 2.6 inches wide, meeting MTB standards for wide tire clearance.
The main component group is SRAM RIVAL (1x11 speed).
With a 1x setup, it offers fewer issues and intuitive shift control. It boasts a wide gear range with a minimum gear ratio of 0.85, allowing you to fully enjoy any road.
The crank uses the MTB crank "SRAM NX." A slightly lighter gear with 36T was chosen to match the tire size.
Brakes include SRAM RIVAL hydraulic disc brakes and MTB standard 180mm rotors. They provide stopping power that matches the tires.
A dropper seatpost is standard equipment. This feature, becoming popular on MTBs, makes a big difference when descending.
