SALSA CYCLES MUKLUK DEORE 11 | Beyond Soft Terrain
Snow, sand, frozen ground. A fat bike that takes you to landscapes unreachable by regular MTBs.
Snow-covered forest roads, sandy beaches along the shore, muddy unpaved roads. Fields that are difficult for ordinary mountain bikes to navigate can be effortlessly ridden with the SALSA CYCLES MUKLUK DEORE 11.
The extra-wide 26x4.6 inch tires provide overwhelming floatation and traction, preventing sinking into soft ground and moving forward stably. The off-road capability unique to fat bikes is an attractive feature that expands the possibilities of your ride.
The frame is made of high-strength 6066-T6 aluminum. The low center of gravity design and short chainstays, thanks to the Mukluk-specific geometry, allow for easy and nimble handling despite the large tires.
Furthermore, it features SALSA's proprietary Alternator Dropouts V1.0. This allows for wheelbase adjustment, single-speed conversion, and customizable settings for various uses, from touring to playful riding.
The Shimano Deore 1x11 drivetrain offers a wide gear range and high reliability, supporting stable riding even in high-resistance environments like snow and sand.

The appeal of the Mukluk, I believe, is its ability to transform places that are normally unrideable into "rideable places."
Even on surfaces where the tires of a typical MTB would sink, such as deep snow or sandy beaches, the 26x4.6 inch tires float well and propel you forward. This off-road capability is particularly noticeable in winter or coastal areas.
Despite its imposing appearance, the handling is straightforward, and thanks to the low bottom bracket and short chainstays, it's quite manageable. Even those new to fat bikes will find it relatively easy to ride.
The high degree of freedom provided by the Alternator dropouts is also a major attraction. It can be set up for touring or playful riding, making it a recommended model for those who want to enjoy various styles with a single bike.
