While possessing the lightness characteristic of UL packs, this model's impressive feature is the sense of security it provides when fully packed.
What's particularly interesting about the RASCAL is its usability even on days with less gear. Some large packs become cumbersome when the load decreases, but thanks to the roll-top and W-zip structure, capacity adjustment is quite natural.
The side and front pockets also seem to be designed with strength and practicality in mind, not just simple lightweight specifications. It feels like it was created with a strong emphasis on "long-term actual use in the mountains," not just lightness.
From long-distance trekking and tent camping to serving as an excellent first large pack for those "looking to seriously start mountaineering," this model is highly recommended.
💬 STAFF REVIEW
The secret to the RASCAL's wide variable capacity of 37 to 48 liters lies in its unique double-zippered roll-top opening (a truly rare feature). This design allows the pack to function even without rolling, simply by zipping it closed.
Unusually for a large backpack, it's easy to use whether you have a lot of gear or a little. The versatility of situations in which it can be used is one of RASCAL's major characteristics!
