RawLow Mountain Works Antelope|An Alpine Backpack Balancing Low Weight, Durability and Carrying Comfort

More than simply lightweight. A large-capacity backpack built around everything you genuinely need in the mountains.

Whether you are following a long ridgeline or moving through rocky sections and fixed-chain routes, low weight is only one part of what matters in a backpack. Just as important is the confidence that it will remain comfortable and dependable until the end of the day.

The RawLow Mountain Works Antelope turns that practical mountain experience into a refined alpine-style backpack. With enough capacity for multi-day trekking, tent camping and extended routes through the Japanese Alps, it combines low weight, dependable durability and comfortable load carrying at a high level.

Its narrow silhouette is designed to move smoothly through tight trails, rocky terrain and technical sections without restricting the body. A carefully considered combination of 1000D nylon, X-PAC and Spectra Grid places each material where its strengths are most effective, creating a pack that feels light without sacrificing reliability.

Well suited to ultralight equipment yet tough enough for demanding use, the Antelope is a backpack designed to remain part of your mountain kit for years to come.

Many lightweight backpacks are designed with minimum weight as the overriding priority, but the Antelope feels much more balanced in its overall approach.

It is not only light, but also reassuringly stable once loaded. The shoulder harness is particularly well designed, helping spread the weight rather than concentrating it entirely on the shoulders. That difference becomes increasingly noticeable over long hours on the trail.

The narrow silhouette also makes it easier to move through the tight trails and rocky terrain often encountered in Japan. Even when carrying overnight equipment, the pack stays close to the body and interferes less with natural movement.

It pairs naturally with ultralight equipment while still offering the toughness needed for regular mountain use. For anyone looking for a lightweight backpack that can be trusted over many seasons, the Antelope is an easy model to recommend.

【MULTI-FABRIC CONSTRUCTION】
The main body is made from tough 1000-denier nylon. Its distinctive textured appearance and color palette pay tribute to the rugged heavy-duty outdoor products of the 1980s. The fabric was selected for its resistance to abrasion on granite and other rocky terrain commonly found in the Japanese mountains, as well as its ability to withstand skis and other winter equipment attached to the sides of the pack.

Tear-resistant 210D Spectra Grid is used on the front panel, where ice axes and crampons may come into contact with the pack in winter, and on the harness areas that are exposed to frequent friction. Lightweight, durable and highly water-resistant X-PAC is used on the bottom and roll-top sections, where abrasion and moisture are most likely to occur.

Rather than choosing materials solely for manufacturing efficiency, each fabric was selected according to the demands of its specific location. This considered approach led to the Antelope’s multi-fabric construction.

【DAISY CHAINS】
RawLow Mountain Works backpacks feature distinctive daisy chains. They serve as an iconic tribute to the great climbers of the past, while also reflecting the brand’s hope that each user will adapt and expand the pack according to their own imagination.

Essential features such as gear loops and ice axe holders have been deliberately retained rather than removed simply to reduce weight.

【INTERNAL PADDING】
Although hidden from view, the internal padding in the back panel and shoulder harness has been carefully selected through repeated testing to achieve the carrying comfort RawLow Mountain Works was looking for.

The padding may initially feel slightly firm, but it is designed to reduce fatigue on long hikes and gradually conform to the body with continued use. The goal was to create a backpack that feels lighter than its actual weight.

The balance between the harness shape, attachment position and internal padding can dramatically change how a backpack feels when carried. RawLow Mountain Works believes that reducing base weight loses its meaning if this balance is compromised. Care has even been taken to ensure that the shoulder harness maintains an attractive form when the backpack is set down.

The Antelope is available in two back lengths to accommodate as many hikers as possible.
Choosing the correct back length has a significant effect on carrying comfort.
Selecting the appropriate size is the first step toward achieving a comfortable fit.

The S/M size, with a back length of 420mm, was created to accommodate users from approximately 160cm in height.
Rather than offering a conventional women’s model with different colors or styling, both sizes share the same design and color options so that smaller users and women can enjoy the same appearance.
The shape and pattern of the harness are also specifically adjusted for each size.

The Antelope was created with the hope that it will be enjoyed by hikers of many different body types who share a love of the mountains.

Back Length Guide

Because the Antelope uses a simplified waist harness, it allows a relatively flexible fit between the wearer’s torso length and the backpack’s back length. Begin by measuring your torso length using the illustration as a guide, then select the size with the back length closest to your measurement.

For example, when your torso length is equal to or longer than the listed back length, choosing the larger size is generally recommended.
Although capacity differs between the two sizes, back length should always be the main consideration when selecting your size.

S/M (Back Length: 420mm)
Recommended for women approximately 160-170cm tall, as well as smaller or slimmer men.

M/L (Back Length: 470mm)
Recommended for users approximately 168-180cm tall. Unisex fit.
