The JAMIS RENEGADE S2 is a serious gravel road bike, featuring Reynolds 631 chromoly and Shimano GRX 12-speed. It combines nimble handling with a supple ride, making it versatile enough for everything from racing to touring.
JAMIS's authentic gravel road bike, which brings together the comfort characteristic of chromoly and the lightness typical of modern gravel at a high level.
A supple ride that minimizes fatigue on long rides. Yet, when you push it, you also want the lightness that propels you forward. The JAMIS RENEGADE S2 is a gravel bike that embodies this "ideal sought in chromoly" in a modern form.
The frame uses Reynolds 631 double-butted chromoly. While offering higher rigidity and a more responsive feel than typical chromoly, it retains the natural ride quality characteristic of steel.
It cruises comfortably on paved roads and softly absorbs road imperfections on gravel. It's less tiring over long distances and naturally balances the light feel of a road bike with the reassurance of a touring bike.
Equipped with SHIMANO GRX 12-speed components. This configuration can handle everything from gravel racing to long-distance touring, with stable shifting performance and braking.
Furthermore, the monocoque carbon fork ensures lightness and vibration absorption. Its high off-road capability, compatible with 700x44c tires, and extensive mounting points for cargo are also appealing features.
It's great for loading up gear and embarking on a journey. It's also great for riding gravel nimbly. The high degree of freedom that doesn't limit its use is a major appeal of this RENEGADE S2.

With the reliability of GRX 12-speed, it's appealing how naturally it can handle not only touring but also more race-oriented riding.
From the perspective of a "fast chromoly bike," its completeness is quite high, and I believe it's a model that can be easily recommended for a first gravel bike or as an upgrade for your next bike.

The RENEGADE that stands apart – more than just a "higher grade"
The JAMIS RENEGADE S2 is not just a simple parts variation. While based on the same design philosophy as the RENEGADE S3, its frame itself is special, featuring Reynolds 631 tubing, a T47 BB, and flat seatstays. Beyond the luxurious components, it truly feels like a "different beast," delivering a lightness and excellent acceleration when ridden.
It offers the comfort typical of chromoly, yet responds with a quick acceleration when you pedal. Its completeness, allowing for enjoyable rides from paved long distances to gravel, truly delivers a high-end riding experience.
Moreover, it is currently on sale at 20% off. For a GRX 12-speed, carbon fork, Reynolds 631 frame specification, this price is quite attractive.
A special frame on a different level from the RENEGADE S3
Reynolds 631 for a frame that transforms the "ride."
The biggest feature of the RENEGADE S2 is its frame, which is completely different from the lower grades. The Reynolds 631 used is a manganese-molybdenum steel with higher strength than general 4130 chromoly, offering an excellent balance of lightness, flexibility, and durability.
Furthermore, it is meticulously crafted down to the smallest details, including a T47 bottom bracket, flattened seat stays, and a UDH-compatible rear dropout. It's not just a luxurious specification; it's thoroughly designed "to make for a comfortable ride."
GRX 12-speed and serious gravel-specific components
The complete bike's specs are also top-tier.
The componentry features SHIMANO GRX 820 series 1x12 speed. This achieves both high-speed cruising performance with a 10T top gear and climbing performance with a low gear.
Furthermore, it comes standard with lightweight WTB KOM TEAM rims and WTB RADDLER 700x44C tires, enhanced for dirt performance. This configuration is designed not only for paved roads but also with serious gravel riding in mind.
A single pedal stroke reveals the difference in "lightness"
Chromoly comfort and surprisingly nimble acceleration.
The RENEGADE S2 is a bit different from the typical "chromoly solidity." It's flexible and comfortable, yet when you pedal, it moves forward lightly. This balance is truly exceptional.
It responds crisply when dancing and glides smoothly when seated. While the S3 is also a highly complete bike, the S2 has a "special quality" that surpasses it. This is a model that we highly recommend to anyone looking for a gravel bike they can enjoy for a long time.
A bike you'll choose for its "ride quality" more than its price
The JAMIS RENEGADE S2 is a gravel road bike with charms that a spec sheet alone cannot fully convey. The lightness and flexibility of the Reynolds 631 frame, the meticulously crafted frame design, and the nimble feel when actually ridden—all of these truly convey its "top-tier model" essence.
It is currently on sale at 20% off. A chromoly gravel complete bike so meticulously crafted for just over 300,000 yen is quite an attractive offer. This is a recommended bike for those who want to compromise neither on the nimble feel of a road bike nor the confidence of gravel riding.
