The base is an outlet model from 2023. We then fully customized it for city riding, from the handlebars and saddle to the pedals and basket.

What kind of bike is the Cinelli Gazzetta?

A classic horizontal frame single speed using COLUMBUS chromoly tubing. Its appealing ride combines suppleness with responsiveness, truly "Cinelli-like" in character.

Equipped with a flip-flop hub compatible with both fixed 17T and freewheel 18T, allowing for enjoyment tailored to your lifestyle and skill level.

With a complete bike weight of approximately 9.5kg, it's light and nimble, striking a good balance for cruising around town.

This time, we leveraged its inherent quality and reconfigured it into a "truly usable bike for the city."

Highlights of this Original Custom

The theme is "making a fixie a true city tool."

And this time, another subtleこだわり (attention to detail) was the "mixed custom of silver and black."

Typically, complete bikes are often unified in black, and if you lean towards classic, full silver is the standard.

But this time, we intentionally leaned towards neither. The lightness of silver and the sharpness of black. By balancing both, we simultaneously achieved "modernity" and "classic feel."

Against the exquisite shade of the frame, Grace Sky Morning, it's neither just cold metallic nor heavy black. It's a bit ambiguous, with a bit of blank space. That was this time's theme.

・Handlebars: Ritchey CLASSIC KYOTE BAR (silver)

6061 aluminum, 800mm wide / 35mm rise / 27.5° backsweep seagull-shaped bar. The grip position naturally comes closer, creating a relaxed posture with a natural wrist angle.

Originally designed for adventure and bikepacking, the upright and stable handling is also excellent for city riding. The wide width offers high freedom for attaching bags and lights, and its compatibility with a front carrier makes perfect sense.

・Grips: OURY mountain grip (clear) / ・Brake Levers: DIA-COMPE SS-6 (silver/black) / ・Cables: NISSEN Stainless (clear orange)

Grips with a block pattern unchanged since the early days of MTB. The supple rubber absorbs vibrations, and the thicker diameter provides good hand support.

The choice of "clear" is key. It doesn't overstate itself, yet has presence. It functions as a color in between silver and black.

We also paid attention to the brake levers and cables! The levers are compatible with classic bikes, and we installed NISSEN cables known for their excellent braking performance.

By installing NISSEN's clear orange outer cable, the saddle's brown blends in well.

A classic road saddle made of synthetic leather. The foam is neither too hard nor too soft, making it comfortable for everyday use.

By choosing brown instead of black, we add warmth to the metallic impression. This is the "city-oriented" switch for this build.

・Pedals: MKS × BLUE LUG Pambda (black/silver)

Its appearance perfectly matches the mixed custom of black and silver parts. With an aluminum body, it's lightweight, and the long, vertical tread firmly supports the foot.

・Basket: BASIL PORTLAND FRONT CARRIER HIGH+REMOVABLE BELT (Silver)

Aluminum, maximum load 10kg. Stable design with brake caliper hole + nut-fixed shaft.

You might wonder, a carrier on a fixie? But with this, the bike takes a step from "hobby" to "daily life."

Carry a bag. Toss in your luggage. Even then, the steering remains stable. The combination with the KYOTE BAR is designed for this purpose.

Summary | How to find the perfect custom, not just by adding things

This Original Custom isn't about competing for flashiness.

By intentionally mixing silver and black, by bridging the gap between classic and modern, and by slightly blurring the boundaries between fixie and city bike.

It's a custom that carefully sought out that "middle ground."

Recently, "more-is-more" customs, where parts are piled on to create impact, have been popular. That's fun in its own way, and it's one correct answer.

But I believe that finding the right balance, not just adding but also considering what to remove, is also a true pleasure of customization.

If I were to make just one more adjustment, it would be the tires.

Changing to slightly darker side-brown tires would instantly add a touch of luxury to the appearance. It would be softer than solid black and would surely deepen the compatibility with the frame color.

You don't need to make big changes. Even small adjustments in nuance can surprisingly alter the bike's impression.
