VELO ORANGE Klunker Bar | Chromoly Handlebars for a Classic MTB Feel
Relax and enjoy the scenery. Klunker bars create an upright riding experience.
The VELO ORANGE Klunker Bar is an upright handlebar inspired by the classic MTB culture of the 1970s and 80s.
Its distinctive 45° back sweep and 76mm rise naturally create a relaxed, upright riding position. It reduces strain on the wrists, making it comfortable for everything from city rides to touring and light gravel rides.
Made from chromoly steel, it offers a more compliant ride than aluminum and high durability, making it comfortable for long rides.
It's perfect for restoring classic ATBs and MTBs, and also adds a unique presence when paired with modern gravel bikes or commuter bikes. It's a handlebar that can subtly change your entire relationship with your bicycle.

This is one of the first handlebars that comes to mind when considering custom builds for classic MTBs and ATBs.
The large 45° backsweep feels more natural than it looks, and actually makes your wrists and shoulders much more relaxed when gripping. It's especially well-suited for those who primarily ride in the city or go touring.
The characteristic compliance of chromoly is also appealing, giving a sense of absorbing minor vibrations from paved roads. It's a handlebar I recommend to those who want to enjoy the bike itself, rather than chasing speed.
It's an interesting option not only for classic touring bikes and old MTBs, but also for giving modern gravel bikes a slightly more relaxed feel.
