The "SYLVAN STREAM" has been a long-standing popular staple pedal from MKS. While inheriting its beautiful form and natural pedaling feel, the "SYLVAN STREAM NEXT" from [MKS / Mikashima Industrial Co., Ltd.] has evolved further as part of the "NEXT" series.
The traditional cup-and-cone structure has been revamped, and triple sealed bearings have been newly adopted. This achieves astonishingly smooth rotational performance and high durability, significantly contributing to reducing fatigue during touring and city riding, and improving pedaling efficiency.
The compact double-sided flat design is easy to handle even with sneakers and is perfect for daily use. It naturally blends in with classic chromoly bikes as well as carefully customized urban commuters.
Furthermore, the high-quality presence exuded by the mirror-finished aluminum body is also appealing. The direct pedaling feel provided by the thin design and the refined aesthetic subtly enhance the overall atmosphere of the bike.
Since it uses screw-fastened side plates, replacement is possible in the unlikely event of damage. It is a flat pedal that represents the MKS NEXT series, combining classic looks with modern performance at a high level.
The impression is that the atmosphere of the SYLVAN STREAM remains, but the rotational performance has been elevated to a higher class.
The smoothness is noticeable from the moment you turn it by hand, and pedaling becomes very pleasant for both city rides and touring.
The size is also exquisite, easy to handle even with sneakers, and yet versatile enough to enjoy a classic style by attaching toe clips.
This is a highly refined next-generation flat pedal that I would recommend when you want to give your chromoly road bike or commuter a slightly more premium feel.
