【SIMWORKS by MKS】Taco Pedal | Japanese-made flat pedals with refined beauty and a comfortable feel
You'll feel the difference the moment you step on them. High-quality pedals made by SimWorks x MKS, designed to be "used and nurtured."
The "Taco Pedal" is a collaborative effort between SimWorks and MKS (Mikashima Industrial Co., Ltd.), a renowned Japanese pedal manufacturer. These flat pedals feature a wide platform and a subtly concave shape, providing a secure and comfortable feel that naturally cradles the foot.
From commuter bikes for cruising the city to gravel, touring, and ATB, their versatile design and stable pedaling performance are appealing across all genres. The replaceable steel pins offer just the right amount of grip, making them safe to use with sneakers or boots.
The 2024 model has been updated with a high-polished finish, showcasing a beautifully refined appearance. MKS's signature high-precision cup & cone bearings ensure excellent rotational performance and maintainability. These are "nurturing pedals" that you can enjoy for a long time, allowing them to adapt to your feet.

The first impression is the "sense of support from a broad surface" the moment you step on them. They provide better foot contact than they appear, offering a secure feeling even during long rides.
Despite being pin pedals, they are not overly aggressive, offering a delicate grip that's easy to handle even with everyday sneakers. I think they're quite versatile for gravel, city riding, and touring.
Another attractive feature is the rotation feel of MKS's cup & cone bearings. While they might feel a bit stiff at first, the sensation of them becoming smoother as they break in is pleasant. These are pedals I'd recommend as a "long-term companion" rather than just a consumable item.
The product is in a "preloaded" state at the time of shipment to ensure durability, so it may feel a little stiff initially. It will become familiar and rotate smoothly after a few hours of use.
