About Japan's Bicycle Situation

Approximately 7 million bicycles are purchased new in Japan each year. However, behind this, a large number of bicycles are being discarded.

Especially with sports bicycles, there are many specialized aspects, such as "the size doesn't fit," "the ride feel wasn't what I imagined," "I want to upgrade to a better model," "my lifestyle changed and I want to let go of it," etc.

It is not uncommon for people to consider discarding or replacing their bicycles.

Instead of discarding unwanted bicycles, selling them to us, having them maintained and refurbished as used bicycles, and then re-using them by a new owner to serve their purpose.

Eirin's Used Bicycle Maintenance Process

① Selecting recyclable bicycles Checking for accidents, working parts, etc.

② Re-adjustment of bearing areas Re-adjustment, cleaning/greasing of head, wheel hub, and bottom bracket

③ Wheel truing (Wheels inevitably warp vertically and horizontally with use) Adjusted to be straight to within 1mm

④ Replacement and adjustment of consumable parts (Most consumable parts on a bicycle need to be replaced every 3 years on average) Replacement of tires, tubes, brake-related parts, etc., and re-adjustment

⑥ Final check Tightening of all screws, checking based on the inspection and maintenance standards of the Japan Traffic Management Technology Association

⑦ Road test Checking for unusual noises, riding stability, and braking performance

⑧ After washing, to the store After washing, they are transported to each store. Each store also performs a final safety check before display. (For online shop orders, a final inspection is conducted before shipping)
